Conquest

Territory control across the Gigaverse map with faction-based strategy

Conquest is the territory control mode in Gigaverse — a real-time strategy game where factions compete for control of a hexagonal tile map. Fireball provides a full-featured interactive map viewer with leaderboards, charts, and faction management.

Overview

In Conquest, you join a faction and work together with other members to control territory on a hex-grid map. The game progresses in ticks — periodic updates where territory changes are applied. Factions earn points based on the tiles they control, and the top factions win when the game concludes.

The Map

The Conquest map is a hexagonal grid where each tile can be controlled by a faction or remain unoccupied.

Tile Types

  • Regular tiles — Standard territory controlled by factions
  • Fort tiles — Special stronghold positions with enhanced control value
  • WASD keys (desktop) — Pan the camera around the map
  • Mouse/Touch — Click or tap tiles to select them and view details
  • Scroll/Pinch — Zoom in and out
  • Tile highlighting — Hover to preview, click to select, adjacent tiles shown

View Modes

The map defaults to a 2D top-down view. An optional 3D view is available and can be toggled in the settings.

Factions

There are 7 factions in Conquest:

FactionColor
CrusaderRed
OverseerOrange
AthenaPurple
ArchonBlue
FoxgloveGreen
SummonerGold
ChoboGray

Joining a Faction

From the Faction Hub (right side of the map), you can:

  • Join a faction directly (if open)
  • Apply to a faction and wait for approval
  • Accept invitations from factions that have invited you

Faction Ranks

Each faction has four ranks with different permissions:

RankRole
LeaderFull control — manage members, treasury, and orders
WarlordCombat-focused — participate in strategic decisions
ScoutIntelligence — movement and reconnaissance permissions
DelegatorResources — manage faction treasury and delegation

Faction Hub

The Faction Hub provides access to:

  • Members — View approved members, pending applications, and invitations. Leaders can approve, kick, or change ranks.
  • Treasury — View and manage faction resources. Delegate resources to the faction. Auto-refreshes every 60 seconds.
  • Orders — View, create, and complete faction orders. Coordinate strategy with your team. Auto-refreshes every 60 seconds.

Game Status

The top of the screen shows a countdown timer to the next tick. When a tick expires, the map updates with new territory changes. You can also scrub through tick history to review how the map evolved over time.

Tiles Bar

A full-width progress bar at the top shows territory distribution — each faction's segment is sized by their control points, color-coded by faction. Hover over any segment to see the faction name, points, and percentage.

Leaderboard

The Conquest leaderboard has two views:

Player Leaderboard

  • Rank, name, faction, crown count (points contributed), and contribution percentage

Faction Leaderboard

  • Rank, faction icon and name, tiles controlled, and total points

Chart View

A line chart tracks each faction's point total over time. Each faction is drawn in its own color. You can toggle individual factions on or off by clicking the legend, and hover to see detailed values at any tick.
